Yardistry Outdoor Rooms, Gazebos and Pavilions
The city finally finished all of the work on the brook behind the house, so this spring I plan to enjoy our back yard.
I started comparing the different kits to put a small covered porch area in our back yard, but the reviews were so good for the ones from Yardistry, I’m beginning by looking at what they offer.
Yardistry makes ready to assemble outdoor room kits with all of the wood pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-stained. The kit includes all hardware and metal components you need to put together a gazebo or pavilion yourself. The kits come with step-by-step instructions and they have videos demonstrating how it is put together.
They are made of 100% FSC® Certified Cedar Lumber. The metal roof on the one we are looking at is made of aluminum with steel supports. The posts on the ones we are comparing are 5 x 5 or 6 x 6.
They are at Sam’s Club, but I’m not sure it’s the same one that we looked at set up in front of the store in 2019. They are also available on Amazon or at Lowes.
Yardistry’s pavilions have gable roofs. The gazebos have hip roofs. The outdoor room has a flat roof.
Pavilions
Yardistry Backyard Pavilion Kit
The smallest one is the Backyard Pavilion. It is big enough to keep the rain off the grill, which is all we were originally thinking of. It has two counters and a metal roof.
The building is 7′ x 5′ 4.5″. The roof is 8′ x 5′. The posts are 5″ x 5″ cedar.
The cedar is stained Mocha Brown. The metal roof is Montana Bronze.
Yardistry Meridian Pavilion Kit
The Meridian Pavilion is a little bigger, 10′ x 10′. The cedar is sealed with a stain that leaves the wood the natural cedar color and has a Coffee Brown aluminum roof. The posts that hold it up are 6 x 6.
Yardistry Carolina Pavilion Kit
The Carolina Pavilion is more the size we are thinking of. The building is 11′ x 10′ 7″. The roof is 13′ x 11′. The cedar is sealed, but left the natural color, which I think I really like. The metal roof is Coffee Brown.
Yardistry Wood Pavilion Kit
This is the largest pavilion Yardistry shows on their site. I am not sure whether I would need to get a permit to put this up. A shed over 12′ needs a permit, but I don’t know about a gazebo or pavilion.
The pavilion is 10′ 4″ x 10′ 5″ with 14′ x 12′ roof. The cedar is stained Mocha Brown and the metal roof is Montana Bronze aluminum.
Gazebos
Yardistry Wood Gazebo Kit
Yardistry Wood Gazebos come in different sizes; 12 x 12, 12 x 14, 12 x 16 and 12 x 20.
They come in Mocha Brown stain with a Montana Bronze metal roof or Tugboat Brown stain and roof.
Yardistry Meridian Gazebo Kit
The Meridian Gazebo comes in different sizes that will fit in different spaces; 10 x 10, 11 x 13, 12 x 12, 12 x 14 and 12 x 16.
They have natural cedar stain and a Graphite metal roof. They use 6 x 6 posts.
Yeah, this is what I want. I love this.
Yardistry Wood Room Kit with Louvered Roof
This is interesting. The roof is louvered, sorta like louvered blinds. It also has a gutter and downspouts.
The room is 13 x 11. It is stained Mocha Brown. The metal roof is White aluminum.
Yardistry Wood Room Louvered Roof
Yardistry’s unique louvered roof design allows you to control the amount of sun or shade you receive. Open both sides of the louvered roof for full sun exposure, close both sides to provide full shade, or do a mix- the possibilities are endless. This room is also designed to provide protection from the rain when the louvers are closed. It includes a full gutter system around the roof and down spouts in two of the posts to direct water flow.
The two sides are controlled separately, so you can have shade on one side and half shade on the other.
Accessories
Privacy Walls
Yardistry makes a Privacy Wall that will fit the 12 x 14 Pavilion and one that fits the 12 x 12, 12 x 14 or 12 x 16 Gazebo.
They are made of cedar and stained Mocha Brown.
Mosquito Mesh Kits
Yardistry has kits you can add to screen in your outdoor room, gazebo or pavilion. They come in all of the sizes and can be added after the building is finished.
The mesh slides on a track, so the screen can be pushed out of the way and tied to the posts. They have full-length zippers, like a tent, so you can get in and out when the room is screened in. The outdoor mesh is made by Phifer. It is designed to last in the weather and sun.
Wood Counter
Yardistry makes a Wood Counter that will fit the 12 x 14 Pavilion and one that fits the 12 x 12, 12 x 14 or 12 x 16 Gazebo. They are supported by the columns that hold up the roof, with an additional leg in the center. They are made of cedar and stained Mocha Brown.
Since it sticks out on both sides, you can’t use the mosquito mesh with it.

So… next… what kind of foundation does it require and how much is it going to cost. What does Yardistry include? What will we need to provide? Does it need permits? Can we put a pavillion within the creek buffer for the blue-line stream or will it have to be farther from the water? Where does the buffer end anyway?
