Our New Kitchen – Getting Settled
We are still figuring out where everything goes, but I’ve been asked a few questions about the kitchen.
This is what it looks like as you walk in from the front door. The island sure turned out big. I can’t reach the middle from anywhere without standing on a bar stool rung. I’ve cracked my head on the pendants a couple of times coming back up. I’ll figure it out.
In this picture there is sure a lot of clutter on that counter… But there is a lot of counter space!
It really is a convenient kitchen to work in. And there is a lot of storage. I don’t know what is exactly going where yet, but it’s all stashed behind doors.
I ended up getting the Corian Simplicity 881P. It is 9 1/4″ deep.
I love the little mat. It is memory foam, very soft. I don’t know how it will stand up, but it was inexpensive.
The cabinets over the fridge leave enough room for our chip baskets from the cabin.
My sister-in-law bought us the bull cookie jar as a housewarming gift. It’s still taped closed… The dog cookies are in the Ikea cookie jar by Alexa.
So, this is it! Getting moved in. We still feel like we are in a hotel or something.
We have under-cabinet lighting to put in yet, but the three recessed lights give plenty of lighting.
