Kit House from 7 Day Aframes

House Kits from 7 Day Aframes can be assembled in just 7 days from delivery to dried in. If you have considered building an A-Frame cabin to live in, as an income producing vacation rental or to sell, these kit houses might be a good choice. What is included? And how long does it really take from breaking ground to CO and a finished home?
Last year my Instagram feed came up with a reel of an A-frame house being built.

casper8609I’ve got the powerOk well. Our Aframe now has electric.
Things will be moving faster now!
Siding, hvac, roof, flooring and deck this week!!!
And I ordered my hot tub!

I made a note to myself to come back and see how it is going. It was right before Hurricane Helene, then I had a lot going on (and no internet). And then I kinda forgot about it.

A-frame Vacation Rental
This morning I looked on Facebook for the same profile and found more posts about building the cabin. It was built as a vacation rental right outside Branson Missouri; Ozark Bark & Creek Retreat: Ozark Outside Oasis Creek-View Hot Tub.
It looks like it was a good investment! It rents for $180 to $619 a night and has a lot of calendar dates already marked as reserved.
7 Day Aframes Kit
Another post shows her cabin was built from a kit from 7Day Aframes.
7 Day Aframes has three standard plans; 730, 968 and 1120 square feet. You can make modifications, but the standard plans are designed to maximize interior space without compromising natural light.

Can You Build in 7 Days?
We Took 1-1/2 Years To Engineer This Aframe House
So You Can Build It In 7 Days
Can you really build in 7 days? They don’t mean 7 days from breaking ground to sleeping in your new home. They mean 7 days to assemble the kit, which gives you a dried in A-frame cabin.
The reference to “DAY” refers to a day in which work is carried out and does not imply sequential “calendar days”. There are certainly weekends, holidays, rain days, unexpected delays, etc. through the course of construction. The “DAY” is a time estimate for reference as to how long the specified tasks may take to complete.
7 Day Aframes Facebook page has a timelapse video that shows a cabin framed in 45 hours.
Realistic Construction Timeline
A timeline on 7 Day Aframes site gives a realistic idea how long it will really take to finish the house. The schedule does not include getting permits and building a foundation, water, sewer and power. (Those were the things that took our cabin from 30 days to 6 months.) But, if you already have everything in place, you really can go from kit delivered to CO in a little over a month if you can get weather and building inspectors to cooperate.
This Timeline displays all items in a complete build out and includes items that are not components of a 7 Day Aframes Home Kit such as electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, etc.

Is an A-Frame a Good Investment?
Are you building to live in, rent out or sell?
Is this the house you want to live in? Why not stay in an A-frame vacation rental to get a feel for it.
In the right area, building a vacation rental can be a great investment.

Are you building to sell? Some people love A-frame houses. Some people don’t. So if you are selling your house, you have to find the right buyer. Do the math. Count the cost. Don’t forget to value your time.
You can compare what A-frame houses sell for where you live A-Frame Houses for Sale on LandSearch.
A-frame Footprint vs Square Footage
There are some differences in comparing an A-frame to other houses. How does the square footage in an A-frame count for an appraisal? Usually only the part of the room with a ceiling 7-feet high or more counts, but an A-frame appraisal may include floor space with a ceiling 5-feet high and up in the square footage. May, may not.
