You can build on a slab or order a kit with floor panels.

There are three different floor systems available, depending on the size of the house and where you are building and whether or not you will have a basement. If you are building on a cement slab, the panels will have installed treated bottom plates.

The exterior wall panels come with the rough openings for walls and windows already framed in, to match your plan. Double top plates tie the walls together.

The kit includes materials for bracing as you build.

Panels can be assembled in less time. The whole process just goes so fast, the inside of your house isn’t out in the rain for months, like a stick built house.

Some kits only include materials for the outer shell. Other kits have panels for the interior walls or include materials to frame the inside walls.

If you order a kit with interior panels, all of the rough openings for the doors on your plan are already framed.

Panels can be heavy. You may need a crane to erect larger panels and roof trusses.

It is possible to raise trusses without a crane. I’ve seen it done. I’ve even seen it done 2 stories up using a LOT of manpower. But a crane makes sense to me.

Even a more complicated house built with a panelized kit can be framed in as little as three days.

If you have hired a contractor to do the framing, this is where the will leave you to finish the house. There is still a lot to do.

It is now ready for its owner/builder to continue on with the finishing of the home. On the exterior the roof shingles, windows and doors and exterior siding will be installed.

On the interior they will install heat and air, plumbing, electric, insulation, drywall, interior doors, trim and cabinets.
