Three New Modular Homes Near Us
They are putting in three new modular homes right next to us.
We noticed some work being done on the land behind the Westwood Cabin.
The land was owned by the guy who has the rentals on the other side of our land. He has been adding new duplexes little by little. He still has one lot left on Cornerstone Way, then he planned to start a new section with the entrance off Stoney Mountain Rd. He had already put in some of the infrastructure.
Flags and lots didn’t match what he has been doing up till now, so we checked GoMaps, the Henderson County online GIS / mapping and property lookup system. Yes, the land had changed hands. It now belongs to My Single Family Homes LLC. There is a little over an acre.
When we saw some people walking around out there, we went and introduced ourselves and found out what is going on. Scott Gash told us something about his plans and told us to find him on YouTube. He told us how fast he expected to have homes up and ready to sell. We were pretty skeptical, considering how long everything has taken us to get permits.
Scott talks about the project on a few YouTube videos. He says this will be a minor subdivision.
A few weeks later we saw people out there working, cleaning up the lot, grading and staking out the houses. Scott’s original plan was for four houses, but it looks like he could only get permits for three. I looked the property up again on GoMaps, nothing. But it takes a while for things to show up. Eventually a job box went up and the project showed up on Henderson County Permits & Inspections. Not long after, two modular sections were delivered. Scott might get close to his timeline after all!
The road into the property is named Gash Cove Rd. The first address, 15 Gash Cove Road will be 3 bedroom, two bath, 1420 square feet with a 408 square foot deck. On one of the YouTube videos Scott says this will be a “regular shotgun style house.”
On YouTube Scott says the other two houses will be 1700 square foot modular homes that will have three bedrooms, two baths and a garage.
This is the view from where the house on the hill will be. In the distance is the foundation of the other house the same size. Mom’s cabin is behind the evergreens on the right. One of the modular sections is visible on the left.
Directly behind the front house and behind my mom’s cabin will be 45 Gash Cove Road. It will be a little larger, 3 bedroom, two bath, 1690 square feet with a 768 square foot deck. It will have an attached garage. This house passed it’s footing inspections on 12/5/2024. The foundation is put in.
On a slight rise to the right coming in the driveway, Scott is building 38 Gash Cove Road. It will also be 3 bedroom, two bath, 1690 square feet with a 768 square foot deck and have an attached garage.
This house passed it’s footing inspections on 12/6/2024. The block looks finished on this one, too.
They delivered the modular sections on the first really rainy day in months.
Yesterday they moved in two modular home sections. They backed them in until they were good and stuck.
This section has the porch on it.
It looks like it is going to be the same house Scott Gash put on S Whitted Street, here in Hendersonville.
Just like when they delivered our modular, they came on the worst and rainiest day in months. It looks like they backed the sections in as far as they could before they got stuck.
You can see in some of the windows.
Inside are the rest of the materials needed to complete the house.
The houses will be Builtwise Modular Homes. Scott has purchased another 12 acres. This “minor subdivision” will be practice for the larger project he will build there.
