Turning the Cabin into a Home

Turning the Cabin into a Home

Mom has moved in. All of the furniture from her old house fits perfectly and the colors are perfect together.

There is room for everything

This photo makes it look more cramped than it looks in real life.

All of the furniture from the old house fits just fine!

There is a lot in the living room. A sofa, two arm chairs, an ottoman, a desk and chair, side tables, coffee table, TV console and bookshelves, lighting and decor.

It sure is a bright and cheerful room.

All of this was in the house Mom just sold.

Things may not stay exactly where they are right now, but I’m amazed how fast Mom was able to get everything settled.

There is plenty of room for a desk in the living room.

The room has plenty of light. Mom’s seen deer and a fox out the windows.

Everything fits and it doesn’t look cluttered.

There is room for a really wide walkway behind the sofa to the door.

The counter stools were at the old house, too. Other than appliances, she hasn’t bought anything new.

Open living room and kitchen.
The porch will be out the door on the right.

The porch will be out the door to the right. Mom doesn’t want the porch roof over the window. She wants to keep the light. So the porch plan is being revisited.

There is plenty of counter space and storage in the kitchen. Not much has been stuffed up into the storage space over the laundry room, bathroom and closet.

The microwave hasn’t come in yet, but the rest of the appliances are installed.

The cabinet color is just right with everything. The microwave hasn’t come in yet, so she is still using the old one on the counter.

None of the rooms are cramped.

I love how the bedroom turned out. The bedroom is 12 x  14-feet.

The wall behind the bed is a little over 12-feet.

I can’t get over how beautifully the colors work together.

The furniture, even the colors work beautifully.

The wall behind the bed is around 12-feet. There is room for the bed, a side table and another desk.

Another desk next to the bed.
The cabin finishes could not go any better with all of of the colors we already have.

The closet is 10-feet wide and 2 1/2-feet deep. The door way is 6-feet wide, so it’s easy to access everything.

The bathroom has a lot of storage and plenty of space.

The bathroom has plenty of storage and enough room for the little carpenter’s bench.

The laundry room has plenty of room for everything.

The laundry room is a laundry room. I am really surprised how much stuff is in there.

Things may change. Mom’s just getting things put away and settled.

But don’t you love it?
