Small Log or Board and Batten Cabin from Blue Ridge Log Cabins
Blue Ridge Log Cabins makes modular cabins. They make log cabins and more traditional looking cabins with board and batten siding. The showroom is close to us and the factory is right there, so they would only have to transport the cabin 31.3 miles from the warehouse to our yard. That’s got to save some money there.
Their website shows one cabin that looks like the size we are looking for. It is smaller, 613 square feet. It is only 12’9” wide and 46-feet long.
Their Facebook page says the Tryon is a Model RV Park Unit. Is it also available as a cabin?
The photo on the PDF is definitely on a permanent foundation.

This plan is one of our most compact designs that is built to the Residential Building Code. It combines quality and efficiency to keep your project on-time and within budget.
You can see for sure it is not just skirted.
I drove down to see the cabins in real life when they opened. The cabins are open to explore and all of my questions were answered.
Yes, the Tryon is a modular cabin. All of the cabins they make are built from the same modular building blocks. The Tryon is a single module or block. Their modules are 12’9” wide. The plan they show on their website can be stretched to 50-feet long, the longest they make.
They use architectural shingles. Blue Ridge Log Cabins does not offer metal roofs. The cabin is delivered with the roof folded down. Then the roof is un-folded and finished after the cabin is put on the foundation.
The exterior can be board and batten or logs. The standard outside door is 3068 9-lite fiberglass.
The walls are 1×12 tongue and groove white pine. The ceiling is 1×8 tongue and groove white pine. The interior doors are knotty pine.
One of the models has white stained t&g walls.
The model has a natural wood floor. The documentation says that the included flooring is “engineered”.
The center of the model cabin is the same size as the Tryon cabin.
The model log cabin is the Blowing Rock 2. It shows how the modules are put together. Even though it is not the Tryon, it gives a really good idea of what the Tryon cabin will be.
It doesn’t seem like it, but the center of the model is the same size as the Tryon cabin will be.
The Tryon bedroom is 11’11” x 12’9”. The end wall has a 2’4” deep closet, which is not included in that measurement. The model Blowing Rock 2 bedroom is 4 feet longer, 15’10” long. So this photo gives a pretty good idea.
The Tryon living room is 14’2” x 12’9”. The model Blowing Rock 2 dining room 3 feet longer, 17’1” long. Any of the cabins are available with a flat ceiling or a vaulted ceiling.
The Tryon kitchen / dining area is 10’3” x 12’9”. The model has stairs and closets in the middle.
The other model, the River Rock 2 cabin has a kitchen the same size.
Tryon has a bathroom that is 4’10” x 8’11”. That is the smallest bathroom in anything we have looked at. A standard tub is 5-feet long. This is the River Rock 2 bathroom. The measurements aren’t on the plan, but I think it is bigger.
We asked for some prices to make the single module cabin the largest size they can make it. We also asked them to price it with and without the vaulted ceiling. And we asked how much it will be to put it on our land, 31.3 miles away.
