Kickstarter to Support Free Starter Farmhouse Plans

I’ve been sharing Jay Osborne’s Free Farmhouse plans since 2017 when I found his Two Story 16′ x 32′ Virginia Farmhouse House Plans. There are four more Starter Farmhouse plans. They are designed to be easy to modify. Each can be as small as 750 square feet or can be modified and personalized to make them as large as you need.

The plans are designed to be economical to build. They are adaptable and designed to grow over time.

The starter plans have two bedrooms. Add more room as you need it to stay within your budget.

Caroline’s Starter Farmhouse
Caroline has a wrap-around porch and many small additions. Like the others, it could start with its 750-square-foot core, and be added to over time.

Georgia’s Starter Farmhouse
Georgia is a classic southern design with a 2-story front porch. Its rear addition has a kitchen/dining area, mudroom, and a third upstairs bedroom (a small suite).

Marilyn’s Starter Farmhouse
Marilyn has a simple facade, but any of the other porches could be used here, too. The different additions of each house are interchangeable– proof of their adaptability.

Virginia’s Starter Farmhouse
Virginia has a hall-and-parlor layout, so the living room can be a temporary guest room. It also has a 1st-floor bedroom suite– which can be used on other designs, too.
The designs are all open source. You can download the plans and use them to build your own house. You can use and edit the files to build your own house or just to learn more about the design process.

If you support the Kickstarter project, you will get the plans and renderings in two formats; digital and printed. You get printed booklets of each of the four new plans.

Each booklet includes plans and renderings. It also includes changes like porches or building over a basement and additions, like a garage or another room.
This is Jay’s fifth Kickstarter project. All have been funded (one at 1045%) and delivered on time.
