Heartland Collection Horizon Modular Homes at Premier Homes of the Carolinas
Premier Homes of the Carolinas is across the highway from Clayton Homes in Hendersonville, NC. They only sell modular homes. No park models, no mobile homes.
We have looked at their homes before, so we went to the office to ask what they have that is the most affordable. The gentleman we spoke to recommends the Heartland Collection Horizon from Nationwide Homes.
There are 8 Horizon homes, with additional variations for each plan.
- Horizon I 1548 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon I XL 1772 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon II 1658 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon II XL 1899 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon III 1825 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon III XL 2089 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon IV 1327 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Horizon IV XL 1519 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms
The smallest is the Horizon IV with 1327 square feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It can be built as a two bedroom, for even less. It is 27+-feet wide, two 13+-feet sections and 48-feet long.
Premier Homes of the Carolinas has the Horizon II available to tour. It is 1658 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It has a laundry room and a good pantry.
The model is flipped from the plan, laundry room on the right instead of on the left end like the plan. I flipped the plan here. (I didn’t flip every single word, so some are backwards now.)

The exterior is vinyl siding, with a combination of horizontal lap siding and vertical board and batten-look siding.
The Horizon II living room here is 19′-6″ x 13’2″. The smaller Horizon IV living room is 16’9″ x 13’2″.
The Horizon II living room here is 19′-6″ x 13’2″. The smaller Horizon IV living room is 16’9″ x 13’2″.
The Horizon II dining area here is 11′-4″ x 13’2″. The smaller Horizon IV living room is 11’8″ x 13’2″.
The Horizon II master bedroom here is 14′-3″ x 13’2″. The Horizon IV master bedroom is the exact same size.
The Horizon II and Horizon IV seem to have the exact same master bath.
There are some options shown for the bathroom for both plan sizes.
The Horizon II has three bedrooms. The other two are 11′-1″ x 13’2″. The Horizon IV has only two bedrooms. The other one is 10’3″ x 10’10”.
The second bath is the same for either model.
This is the back. The double doors open from the dining area. This would be a perfect place for a deck.
The door on the side walks into the laundry room. This would be the ideal place to put a garage or carport.
The Horizon II side door walks into this laundry or utility room. The Horizon IV walks into a hall with a door to the utility room.
They gave us a packet with all of the Horizon floor plans and prices. The Heartland Horizon IV is listed for $232,582. With a porch, it is $241,022. It also says average build time only takes 7 months from the time your financing is approved, which is faster than when we were looking a few years ago.
We asked for a quote with no options at all added, moved to our land and assembled. What is the least it will cost to have a 2-bedroom Heartland Horizon IV built on the land we already own? We went on other websites to see prices and came up with “High $100s.”
Add a nice front porch and this is a really practical house.
The Nationwide Homes Horizon II is 1658 square feet. We really wanted something closer to 800 square feet. Even the smaller 1327 square foot Horizon IV is bigger than we were thinking about, but let’s find out what it will cost.
