DIY 5-Room Log Cabin Plans
This 5-Room Log Cabin Plan 5506 is available through the Cooperative Extension Service for Agriculture and Home Economics. It is built with 12″ logs.
This five-room cabin, designed principally for camping, would make a fairly comfortable house for a small family. A basement could be provided, with the entrance down a stairway from the back porch. Loft space could be reached from an open stair in the living room.
The cabin is 42 x 32.5. It has two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. There are front and back covered porches.
There are two bedrooms downstairs and two more that can be reached by a ladder.
Upstairs uses the lower ceiling area for storage.
The cabin is designed without insulation. Insulation and vapor barriers will be needed for cold weather occupancy.
The plans include a fireplace with rock chimney in the center of the cabin.
