Shed Roof Over the Window on a Farmhouse Style House

I love a lot of things about this house on Hilton Head Island.

It has a lot of Craftsman style features, but with the white siding and metal roof details, it has a Modern Farmhouse feel to it, at least to me.

The house is set back, with a lot of trees around it.

I wrote another post about the covered walkway that connects the house to the garage.

I love the little metal roof that is over the window. A similar roof is over the garage doors.

Here is how they have the shed roof overhang for the windows.

They used board and batten above and lap below for the siding. It looks like it is Hardie board.

The windows are trimmed in Craftsman style, with all the details.

The brackets supporting the shed-roof overhang start outside the window trim, with additional trim outside the brackets.

Here is the little metal window roof from the side.

You can see how they matched the roof pitch for the window, the porch and the covered walkway.

The roof of the house has regular shingles, but they put metal roofing over the window, on the porch roof.
