Covered Walkway on a Farmhouse Style House
When I first bought the log cabin, I wanted some kind of roof over the steps. I explained to my brother that I wanted some way to get from the house to the garage without being rained on.
He brought me an umbrella.
When we visited Hilton Head Island last time, I saw a house that had solved the problem.
A Covered Walkway from the House to the Garage
Right at the corner where we turn to get to where we stay, is a new house. It is sort of a combination of Farmhouse and Craftsman style.
The white siding and metal roof details gives it a decided Modern Farmhouse look, at least to me. There are a lot of trees in front of it, so it’s hard to get good photos.
They have built a covered walk from the front porch to the garage door.
This is where it comes off the front porch.
The walkway goes to a door in the side of the garage.
This is another view from the side. The walkway fits perfectly with the house.
This is where the roof over the steps comes off the house.
Here is where the roof is supported as it meets the peaked roof over the walkway.
This is another view of where the two roofs come together.
The walkway turns a corner to go into the garage.
This is the roof where the walkway makes the turn.
And here is the roof where it ends over the garage side door.
Here is another view of the whole thing, the roof over the steps to the covered walkway to the garage.
