Finishing the Plaster and Paint
This week they mostly finished the molding, touched up the plaster and gave the walls and ceiling another coat of paint.
The contractor came by and wrote all over the walls. He was marking all of the places he wanted another coat of plaster. They came back. They plastered and sanded all of the places Chuck had marked.
They have finished the wall where it meets the tub and replaced the base molding.
They will come back and fill all the nail holes and paint before they finish the trim paint.
The wall by the bar was not quite the right size here. They re-framed this end, put on new drywall and plaster and then fit the molding. I’m not sure who did it all, but I am pleasantly relieved that, after everything, they have finished with something I am happy with.
See how wide the roller is? The pan is wide and deep to accommodate it. It is lined with plastic, easy to change colors, easy to clean up. Especially since the water is now turned off.
They draped everything in the kitchen.
They plastered the ceiling some more. Then they sanded and painted again.
When they finished, they cut in. They went around twice, once for the white, once for the yellow.
They are still there. They are calking around the windows in the doors on the outside when we left.
In other news… the siding guys came and finished the garage door. And they finished a little piece they had missed that was really driving me crazy.
Later, the same crew that painted has started cleaning. They have removed the paper off the floor and washed the windows.
