Installing the Drywall – Part 2
By the end of the day on Sunday they had put up all the drywall they had. So close! Monday morning they were back on the job early.
The ceiling is high! I wish I had got to see how they got that up there!
My bathroom had the purple gypsum.
They drywalled the wall that will hold up the bar.
They were taping the walls by early Monday morning. They have a super cool efficient taping machine. It is called an Automatic Taping Tool.
Watch this short clip of how the taping machine works.
He pumps joint compound directly into the taping machine.
Then he runs the tape.
And this guy comes behind and smooths it.
Someone came and brought the rest of the drywall, so they can finish.
When we got there on Tuesday, nearly everything was all taped. Look at those stilts! That’s how they reached the garage ceiling. Wow!
They were pre-cutting the corner bits for the windows. They don’t need to do the bottom, since we have window sills. He pre-cut everything and left it leaning in the window ready to go.
One guy was walking around on stilts doing all the top. The other guy did everything that could be reached from the floor.
And we just signed for the next draw!
