Replacing Deteriorating Log Cabin Porch Supports
Meanwhile back at the cabin.
Some of the supports to the front porch of the log cabin were deteriorating.
Cliff had put in additional supports, just to be safe, since we often have 20 or more people over for barbecues.
My brother came over to fix it.
He ran a line to keep the porch level.
Then he jacked up the porch and pulled out the bad post.
He dug down to the pier and measured for the new post.
He jacked up a little more and forced the new post into place.
He fastened the post in and released the jack.
Then he did the same thing for the rest of the posts.
