Tiny House Neighborhood
The Hendersonville Lightning, one of our local papers, had an article on the Village at Flat Rock, a tiny house community near us on Thursday. So Saturday we took a drive by to see it.

They were having an open house, so we could walk around, see the houses and tour a few of them.

There is a lake and a dog park, a clubhouse, workout room and a pool.
Some could be moved. Others seemed to be set up as permanent homes.
This little cabin is the most private.
The area used to be Twin Ponds RV Park. You can still see what it used to look like on Google Maps.

There are a few different types there. They have Tiny Houses, Park Models, Blue Ridge Log Cabins and really small modulars or mobile homes by Clayton Homes.
This house was open to see inside.
I’ve lived in apartments with smaller kitchens.
The bar creates a small dining area.
The bedroom has a little closet and some other storage.
They put in plenty of windows.
Across from the bedroom is a stacked full size washer and dryer.
Above the bedroom, a ladder leads to some storage space.
The model was leveled on block.
It felt stable. Not like an old trailer at all.
Pricing was available.
You lease the land your home is set up on. Rent is currently $550 to $650 a month, which includes your water, sewer, cable, garbage and recycling, lawn and road maintenance.
