The Foundation is Marked and Sealed

Last week someone showed up and marked the block.

I think this marks where the ground will come to when the house is done.

The forecast was for rain and can-you-believe-it snow. We got the rain, but somebody else got the snow. It is April! This is ridiculous!

They put more block at the entrance to the crawl space.

Today they put on the waterproofing. I wasn’t there when they did it.

Block has waterproofing sealant applied to keep water from coming through the block.

They put it on all of the outside walls and on the house wall inside the garage.

At the bottom they put DrainStar Stripdrain Prefabricated Self Strip Drain.

DrainStar features two hard-working components:

1) A rigid polymer core of engineered cones that collect and move water to designated drainage exits.

2) A non-woven, needle-punched geotextile filter fabric to strain out backfill soils and other particles.

There are more drains. I’m not sure what that is about.

Draw Schedule

While I was out there I met Olga. She works for the bank. Before each draw, she will come out and take photos to document that the builder has really done what they say they have done.
