Re-marking the Footers

Re-marking the Footers

When I saw that in one spot the footer was not quite in the correct location, I was concerned. Really concerned.

They said they could probably adjust the house over, but we had to make sure we were not too close to the set-backs for zoning.

The surveyor was out just now and carefully measured. Yes. It could be done.

The setback mark.

He marked the setback. We are fine.

Then they re-marked the footers. They pulled out the original nail and put in the new one, then marked it with blue spray paint this time.

At least it is a good thing that the footers grew in the correct direction!

The original nail marked with orange is removed. The new nail is marked in blue.

Even the piers for the porch and the carport are adjusted.

I’m still not clear on the details here. Is the nail to snap a chalk line to? Do the block line up at the edge of the nail? Or is it the outside edge?

We will find out!

The water in the well is clear.
The water in the well is clear.

Oh and the water in the well is as clear as can be. And really cold! Perhaps I can do something with this…
A small pond?…if we can adjust things to put it in the correct place…

I’ve seen some really cool ideas on Pinterest.
