Building Our New Schumacher Home: Explore
The morning I found the Schumacher Homes website I spent hours looking at floor plans and photos. I filled out the form to download a PDF with more information and I read everything. As soon as they opened, I went down to see the model.
The model was similar to what we had in mind all along. Downstairs they have a Design Studio. This is a rather large open space with samples of flooring, siding, cabinet doors, paint chips, hardware options… all the selections you need to make. And I loved the options. They had Corian! I love the idea of Cobalt Blue Corian countertops in the kitchen.
The woman who met me was friendly and helpful. She showed me how to know which were standard and which options cost more. I talked to Cliff, he came out and looked and we were pretty sure this is what we were going to do.

We asked for more specific details, some of the things we were never able to find out from the modular people we were talking to. They sent details about the Lennox Heat pump provided, and a CADD drawing of our initial modifications and pricing right away.
The timeline says the Explore process should take 2 to 4 weeks. It took us closer to 2 to 4 days. We had already looked at so many other models, that we were pretty sure we were at the right place.
