Building Our New Schumacher Home: Customize

From home we looked at all of the floor plans, chose one and started to make modifications. We met with a man that took our modifications and gave us a price for each one. We got a little carried away and added about 100 thousand dollars in modifications. They patiently priced everything out.

We were going to add a third bay to the garage, with a bonus room over the garage. A bonus room seems like it would be a great idea, but added a lot to the cost for not a whole lot more usable space.

This wasn’t really a waste of time, though, since we could see what things cost to make an informed decision on what was worthwhile and what was not.
