The Right Thermostat: Lennox ComfortSense 7500 Touchscreen Thermostat
When they finished installing the HVAC system, the thermostat was not the one they promised. We were told we would have the Lennox ComfortSense 7500 Touchscreen Thermostat. What we had was the Honeywell TH6210U2001/U T6 Pro Programmable Thermostat.
The contractor called the HVAC guy back out, but he did not have the correct one with him.
So, they ordered it in and came back today to put it in. It didn’t take long at all to swap them out. For some reason there is a plate put behind it.
When he was testing it to be sure it was connecting correctly, he realized that the heat pump had never been started. We have been running on emergency heat.
So, he went out and started the heat pump and tested everything again.
The new thermostat is touch-screen and REALLY easy to use. Way easier than the one from Honeywell.
Here is the box with the details.

What do all the letters mean?
The side of the box says: R, C, Y1, Y2, W1, W2, G, D, H, O, B, T, T
What in the world does that mean?
I Googled it. These are abbreviations for all of the wiring and the things that the thermostat can control.
- R, C and B provide power.
- Y1 and Y2 control air conditioning
- W1 and W2 control heating
- G controls the fan
- D and H are universal terminals.
The functions depending on configuration. It can control emergency heating or engage the third stage of heating in 3 stage heat systems - B is for a Reversing Valve
- T and T are for the two temperature sensor, indoor and outdoor
